it seems to be we don't judge about things we don't care about.
for example, if you think inter-racial marriages are ok, then you don't judge people in a an inter-racial marriage.

Catch a falling star

it feels sometimes like i am out on a cool clear night, looking to the night sky and waiting for something to happen.

Then there are those of us who actually own some falling stars. Granted, very few meteors produce meteorites (actually, the little ones you see all the time are no bigger than dust grains that just burn up in the atmosphere) there's nothing like holding a piece of another world in your hand and knowing that its over 4.5 billion years old. Just too cool.
I know that this is slightly off topic but for me, I see the greatest beauty of all in science. There's nothing out there like learning about how every single element of my meteorites was formed.

NEED XMAS IDEAS FOR MEN

Go to x10.com and get some home automation stuff. Yes, they're the same company that has all those annoying pop up ads for video cameras but they've been around a LOT longer than that. You can buy special light switches and thermostats and the needed transmitters to be able to make all the lights and appliances in your house remote controlled. There are hand held remotes that you can use as well as an interface for your PC. I was able to get all the needed pieces to turn a 2 bedroom house fully automated. You can really impress your friends with that stuff too.
The idea for the Legos kits was good also. I don't know if your hubby collects anything but if so ask him if there's anything in paticular he's been wanting.
Edited to add you can pick up small black and white TV's that could be kept out in the workshop for about $30 at the nearest Target or K-Mart. What's really cool is that not only do they work on battery power and can be plugged into the wall they also come adapters so you can watch them in the car.

Read a book on geology or meteorites. You'll see that the solar system (and hence the earth) has been around for approximately 4.56 billion years. Also, if the earth has only been around for a few thousands of years then its kind of hard to imagine how the earth could be getting light from stars that are around 12 billion light years away. In case you're not that familiar with astronomy 12 billion light years away means that the light left those stars 12 billion years ago and is just now getting to us.

by Cygnus ini have seen (edited to add the word "posted" here, for clarification purposes) on this board that bill bowen is still a jw at heart, and i have seen posts and transcipts of his where he refers to the "christian" way of handling matters.
i have it on good authority that bill is not concerned with the bible, and that he is as far from being a jw as could be (religiously speaking).
bill has refused to answer my inquiries as well as others' when asked about his position on religious/jw matters that have a bearing on his silentlambs credibility based upon direct statements made by him.

while our previous conversation was remembered differently in certain areas we agreed that we should be peaceful with one another, i apologized for any misunderstanding and decided as a result to remove any negative comments made about him.
i do believe our discussion was productive and will help us both to be more supportive of one another in the future.

I say screw all sexual abuse victims over again and tear apart the guy who's only human and by far the driving force behind Silent Lambs for the sole reason he said something stupid (despite the fact that he got it all worked out and the only people who matter are perfectly happy now). Yep, that'll do everyone a LOT of good. So, you gonna run Silent Lambs after Bill leaves with his head hung in shame over one single stupid remark about someone who is cool with him now?
Come to think of it, if we're going to start saying people are horrible people not worthy of the air they breath because they may say something bad about someone else I think just about everyone here should have a nice good opinion of you.

Would You Now Feel Uncomfortable Taking Blood?
by minimus innow that you know about the truth of the blood doctrine, would you feel, even a little bit uncomfortable agreeing to take a blood transfusion?
btw, my mother asked me if i would still honor her wishes for refusal of blood.
i told her that even though my view has changed, i would respect her decision, even if i felt that it was wrong.

You mean would I be uncomfortable with doing something to save my life even though some crazy cult people think doing something like that is bad based on their warped interpretation of a book that makes no sense? No, I wouldn't hesitate to do it at all.
As for family members, I'd probably sign and let them have a transfusion. So they don't like it. At least they'd be alive to hate me.
